Lisa J. Murphy discusses ‘tactile mind’ book on VoicePrint.

This is on today & most likely downloadable tomorrow.

Erotic Photographs Presented In Accessible Format For Blind,

This Sunday On Contact

Tactile Mind is a different kind of book, in many ways.

Tune in to Contact this Sunday at 4.30 p.m. when photographer and author Lisa Murphy pays a return visit to VoicePrint discussing the success of her unusual book, Tactile Mind. In May 2009, Murphy was interviewed by VoicePrint shortly after her book of erotic photographs in tactile graphics was published.

In the year since the book’s publication when VoicePrint was the first media outlet to interview Murphy, much of the mainstream media including CNN, BBC, Howard Stern, Playboy, National Post, GQ, Salon have given Murphy and her book a mixed reception. Her book—which makes erotic material accessible to the blind and vision-impaired– has been perceived as revolutionary by some and nothing more than a gimmick to others.

Murphy discusses the book, its reception and her plans for the future.

Hear more. Learn more. This Sunday at 4.30 p.m. and make Contact …on VoicePrint.

‘tactile mind’ in VoicePrint studio tomorrow am.

Being interviewed for VoicePrint tomorrow morning. It will be an audio interview, and my absolute favorite; the much dreaded on-camera interview. I interviewed with VoicePrint about a year ago. They understand ‘tactile mind’ for what it is: A book of nude photographs for the blind and vision impaired. No gimmicks, no bullshit.  I just  have to make sure I am there on time,  and awake (aka. jacked on caffiene).

A post from ‘tactile mind’ on a beautiful Sunday evening.

I just got back from a  beautiful weekend  in Muskoka. My only souvenir is a huge hickey from a black fly. Now at home, getting ready for a photo shoot tomorrow night for my next project. Last night there was a interview on butterscotch.com about ‘tactile mind’. I have not had a chance to check it out. On-camera interviews are my least favorite. At least on a radio or newsprint interview, I can pace my kitchen, distort my face, scratch myself, and nobody can see. I have another interview later this week with Voiceprint Canada.  I find that my eyelids flitter all over the place when I’m trying to explain something. I am really going to try and focus. I will probably look psycho.
