Why did I take pictures of women in high-heeled shoes and  lingerie, and sculpt these images into a second project? Because it’s beautiful imagery. It’s imagery that’s real in a sighted world.  When one blind proofreader ‘saw’ the picture of the high-heeled shoes, he/she couldn’t believe that this footwear actually exists.  Same with the underwire bra.  I find it so amazing that items and images that are a part of day to day living for those of us with sight, have not yet been invented for those who cannot see.

tactile mind featured on CBS show The Doctors

tactile mind the book will be featured for a minute, maybe two, this Friday, December 3 on ‘The Doctors’. I’m stoked; I receive an end of show credit for this!  The producers from CBS whom I dealt with were great.  The book got stuck in customs (in Milwaukee?) and didn’t make it to the taping on time, so I’m curious to see how  imagery was put together.  Sure it will be amazing-

I know all press is considered to be good press, but how does that translate when they mis-spell your name and the title of your book – especially when you’ve already spent an hour answering questions via email, and your website can be found on-line?

Lisa J. Murphy project update

So I’ve been pretty quiet on the blogging front just trying to focus on getting my second project completed.  I’m so easily distracted. food. phone.laundry. life shit.  Now receiving magazine hard copies from everywhere with articles about tactile mind. Very cool. will post some (bits) of pictures of my new project in the next couple of days. Haven’t quite figured out a title yet.
