tactile mind the book will be featured for a minute, maybe two, this Friday, December 3 on ‘The Doctors’. I’m stoked; I receive an end of show credit for this! The producers from CBS whom I dealt with were great. The book got stuck in customs (in Milwaukee?) and didn’t make it to the taping on time, so I’m curious to see how imagery was put together. Sure it will be amazing-

So I’ve been pretty quiet on the blogging front just trying to focus on getting my second project completed. I’m so easily distracted. food. phone.laundry. life shit. Now receiving magazine hard copies from everywhere with articles about tactile mind. Very cool. will post some (bits) of pictures of my new project in the next couple of days. Haven’t quite figured out a title yet.

Currently trying to put together supporting information that tactile mind (if the 3 books were not sold before store closure) was being sold on consignment at This Ain’t the Rosedale Library. Hoping to pick my books up, but I never received any formal consignment documentation from this shop – just little receipts (?!) Lesson learned. I have spoken to the lawyer and the bailiff attached to this case. I don’t know if what I have is going to fly with the creditors. Pain in the ass. Fingers crossed.

In May 2009, Murphy was interviewed by VoicePrint shortly after her book of erotic photographs in tactile graphics was published.
In the year since the book’s publication when VoicePrint was the first media outlet to interview Murphy, much of the mainstream media including CNN, BBC, Howard Stern, Playboy, National Post, GQ, Salon have given Murphy and her book a mixed reception. Her book—which makes erotic material accessible to the blind and vision-impaired– has been perceived as revolutionary by some and nothing more than a gimmick to others.

I did a radio interview with RCN Radio a few days ago. I’m hoping I got my ideas and concept of tactile mind across, as the primary language of the interviewer was Spanish, and the static on my Blackberry can alter full statements by itself.

I received an email from Surface Magazine. They have now launched out of Beijing, China and are interested in writing about tactile mind. Today I am attempting to get the proper image requirements to them; which requires a re-shoot of my book. I hope the daylight today is good to me – photographing white plastic sucks.
